📢 **Common CAS Mistakes—Navigating Course Dates and Hours Per Week**

Updated: Feb 25

Hello everyone! Thanks for joining me for another week of UKVI compliance discussions. Today, we're focusing on common mistakes made when filling out the CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies), specifically regarding course start and end dates, and hours per week for child students.

📆 Course Start and End Dates

1️⃣ Start Date: Always enter the actual date the student will start the course, and it can't be a date in the past. If the student is starting late, input the CAS creation date as the start date and clarify the actual start date in the 'sponsor note' section.

2️⃣ End Date: This should align with what's listed on your website or prospectus.

3️⃣ Latest Acceptance Date: Provide a realistic date by which the student must enrol—ideally, the first day back after the first half-term. If the student doesn't enrol by this date, report the delay through the SMS and provide a new start date.

⚠️ Child Students - Hours Per Week

For child students in full-time education, ensure you tick 'full time' and input '0' in the hours field. This field is generally reserved for Students (General), who need to specify their hours per week (e.g., 25 hours).

💡 Why This Matters

Avoiding these common mistakes not only maintains compliance but also ensures a smoother transition for your international students. So, be meticulous with your CAS entries!
